CBSE 12th History Exam 2026 LIVE: Vinita Sah, PGT History at Lancers Army Schools shares paper analysis:

Having assessed the CBSE Class XII History paper for the 2025–26 session, I found the overall structure to be reasonable and mostly appropriate for the level. The Multiple Choice Questions were well-balanced — they tested factual knowledge as well as basic conceptual understanding without being unnecessarily tricky. Students across ability levels were able to attempt this section with reasonable confidence, and it served as an encouraging start to the paper.

However, the 3-mark and 8-mark questions were considerably more demanding. The 3-mark questions required structured analytical responses with specific historical evidence, which many students may find difficult to organise under time pressure. The 8-mark questions were particularly challenging — they expected essay-level depth, critical interpretation, and a nuanced understanding of historiography that weaker students were clearly underprepared for.

CBSE 12th History Exam 2026 LIVE: Shashi Singh, PGT – History, Global Indian International School, Noida shares exam review:

“The History question paper was based on the prescribed syllabus and covered all sections in a balanced manner. The paper was clear and well-structured, making it manageable for students. MCQ questions were slightly tricky and required careful reading before answering. Source-based questions were from familiar areas of the syllabus and gave students a fair opportunity to apply their knowledge. Short-answer and long-answer questions were asked from important chapters and allowed students to present their preparation effectively. Internal choice in long-answer questions was helpful for students. The map question was easy and from an expected area, so students who had practiced regularly could attempt it comfortably. Overall, the level of the paper was moderate and no question was outside the syllabus. Students with regular preparation could attempt the paper confidently.”

CBSE 12th History Exam 2026 LIVE: Don Augustine, PGT HISTORY, Vidya Gyan School Sitapur shares paper review:

The History question paper was overall easy to moderate in nature and well-balanced for students with proper preparation. Most sections were framed from the prescribed syllabus and tested both conceptual understanding and factual knowledge.

The multiple-choice questions (MCQs) were generally manageable; however, a few factual questions were slightly tricky and required careful reading. Students who had done an in-depth study of the chapters would have found these questions easier to answer accurately

The three-mark questions were mostly easy to moderate and gave students a fair opportunity to express their understanding in a concise manner. The long-answer questions were straightforward and allowed well-prepared students to elaborate on historical concepts, events, and analysis effectively.

The source-based questions were not overly difficult, but they certainly required close reading, interpretation skills, and a deeper understanding of the subject. Similarly, the map-based question was fair and manageable for students who had practiced regularly.Overall, the paper was student-friendly, balanced, and scoring in nature. It successfully assessed not only memory-based learning but also interpretation and analytical ability, making it a good paper for sincere and well-prepared students.
