Twenty-five years after “Pagdating ng Panahon” became part of the emotional soundtrack of Filipino listeners, Ice Seguerra is entering a new chapter.
His latest single, “Ikaw ang Wakas,” leads into the upcoming EP “Tamang Panahon,” a project that reflects where he stands today — not only as a singer, but as a songwriter shaped by time and experience.
For many, “Pagdating ng Panahon” captured the feeling of waiting and hoping that love would arrive at the right moment. With “Ikaw ang Wakas,” Seguerra speaks from a different place. The new song reflects clarity rather than uncertainty, exploring love that has endured, matured and been chosen with intention.
The EP further defines Seguerra’s evolving musical identity. While his sound continues to lean on acoustic elements such as guitar-driven arrangements and intimate production, the material now carries a deeper sense of grounding. He describes the direction as “Filipino Soul” — not a strict genre but a sensibility rooted in emotional honesty and lived experience.
Rather than focusing solely on production style, the approach highlights feeling as the common thread. Whether performing ballads, acoustic pieces, or more textured arrangements, Seguerra emphasizes sincerity and storytelling.
Over the years, he has moved through different musical phases. With “Tamang Panahon,” those experiences come together with greater clarity. The songs center on readiness, commitment and love that comes after growth. The arrangements remain restrained, allowing the voice to lead.
Seguerra is set to introduce “Ikaw ang Wakas” during his upcoming concert, “Being ICE: Live!” at the New Frontier Theater on Friday. The single will be available on major music streaming platforms beginning February 27.
