THE international residential cruise ship MS Odyssey docked at Manila South Harbor on Sunday morning, June 7, marking its second visit to the capital as it prepares to be officially designated as the world’s first global flagship for peace.

The vessel, also known as the Villa Vie Odyssey, arrived at Berths 4 and 5 of Pier 15 at 7:43 a.m. following a stop in the resort island of Boracay. It is carrying 219 passengers and 196 crew members.

The ship’s arrival coincides with its historic selection by the Unesco Center for Peace as the first-ever Global Flagship for Peace. The international program aims to utilize the vessel’s global journey to promote cultural exchange, education, unity, and various humanitarian initiatives across borders.

An official dedication ceremony to formalize the peace flagship title was held at Pier 15 on Monday.

Managed by the Philippine Ports Authority’s (PPA) Port Management Office for NCR-South, Manila South Harbor previously hosted the residential vessel during its maiden Philippine port call in September 2025. Local maritime authorities noted that the recurring visits of high-profile international cruise ships reinforce Manila’s position as a critical hub for global tourism and international relations

The MS Odyssey is scheduled will remain in Manila until June 10 before setting sail for its next destination.
