The Minnesota Timberwolves have a new-look roster heading into the 2026-27 NBA season after acquiring LaMelo Ball in a blockbuster trade with the Charlotte Hornets.
This trade pairs Ball alongside Anthony Edwards, forming one of the most electrifying backcourt duos in the league. And before they take the court together for their first official NBA action, the 2020 NBA Draft classmates are getting in some offseason work.
According to Timberwolves insider Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic, Edwards and Ball are spearheading a team trip to Paris to workout with veteran Minnesota big man Rudy Gobert.
“That is a very meaningful gesture and a very, I think, calculated decision,” Krawczynski said on his podcast.
Edwards recently acknowledged that there will be growing pains when it comes to adjusting to the Timberwolves’ new squad.
“It’s definitely going to be ups and downs. First year together maybe a lot of downs. We’ll celebrate both of them. Celebrate the ups, celebrate the downs,” Edwards said during an interview with Taylor Rooks at a Fanatics Fest event in New York City.
Edwards recorded a career-high 28.8 points per game in his most recent season with the Timberwolves. Over the course of his six-year stint with the Hornets, Ball averaged 20.8 points and 7.3 assists per game.
