LeBron James took the stage alongside Indiana Pacers point guard Tyrese Haliburton for a Fanatics Fest event in New York City on Thursday.

There, the all-time great NBA superstar answered a series of questions — including one about the favorite team he’s ever played for.

James gave a diplomatic answer, referencing his championship teams with the Miami Heat, the 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers and 2020 Los Angeles Lakers. He also went outside of the NBA, talking about the famous USA Basketball “Redeem Team” that won an Olympic gold medal in 2008.

James is in the midst of a highly-publicized free agency process, weighing his options as he prepares for his historic 24th NBA season. The Heat and Cavaliers are both leading contenders to land his services, along with the Golden State Warriors, Philadelphia 76ers and Minnesota Timberwolves.

“I’m a natural born leader. I’m going to try to fit in to whatever team I’m going into, but also give them all the tools and all the knowledge that I’ve been able to grasp over the last 23 years,” James said when asked about his free agency process.

James didn’t give any hints about his ultimate free-agent decision during Thursday’s Fanatics Fest. Haliburton jokingly asked The King for a decision at the end of the event, and he didn’t give an answer.
