A bulldog doing his best to gently stroke the cat just like his owner does has delighted the internet, showing that friendships really do come in all shapes and sizes.

Pet owner Aiyana Knight, 23, captured the adorable footage of her bulldog, named Bruce, attempting to give the cat, named Batman, some much-needed fuss. Bruce has evidently seen how Knight does it and decided to put his skills to the test by pawing at Batman’s head, as though offering him some loving strokes.

Knight, who resides in California, can’t get enough of their special bond, as she told Newsweek that they’re “attached to each other.” Wherever one of them goes, the other will undoubtedly follow because the duo does practically everything together.

“Bruce and Batman play together, and the cat likes to knead on the dog too,” Knight said. “They even cuddle, sleep in the same bed and the dog definitely pets the cat a lot, and Batman actually enjoys it too.”

Just like Knight, the internet is also obsessed with the sweet clip, which has gone viral since it was posted on TikTok (@pearlsare4ever). The video, which shows Bruce fussing the black cat repeatedly, has generated over 396,500 views and more than 77,400 likes since it was shared in December.

The caption layered over the clip reads: “My dog watching us pet the cat, so now he does too.” Knight also noted that Batman loves the fuss he receives from Bruce, even if he can be a bit heavy-pawed at times.

Ever since the pair were introduced, Bruce has always tried to be gentle towards his feline sibling. Batman was only a tiny kitten back then and it was clear that Bruce understood how delicate his new bestie was, and he certainly took that on board.

Knight couldn’t be happier with how close her cat and dog are, telling Newsweek that they have “a very cute relationship” already. When she caught this heartwarming moment in a video, she couldn’t resist sharing the footage online to see what others thought of it too. Needless to say, the reaction suggests that social media users were just as delighted by the cat and dog’s undeniable friendship.

“I figured I’d post the video because it was too cute not to share, and I was just so surprised by the amount of attention it got. I’m so happy that people found it just as cute as I did,” Knight said.

In the weeks since the TikTok video went viral, it has generated over 400 comments online. Many people hailed the dog for being so gentle, while others lauded his ability to observe and replicate.

One comment reads: “Aww look at him try his best to be gentle.”

Another TikTok user wrote: “Might be the cutest thing ever.”

While another person joked: “This is the equivalent of ya coworker acting like a manager.”
