Daycare Dog Who Needs To Nap Like the Other Kids Has Internet in Stitches

A sleepy dog has captured the internet’s attention after a video showing him settling down for naptime just like the children around him at daycare went viral.

In the TikTok video, shared in January under the username @happyfaces.childc, the dog can be seen tucked neatly under the blankets on his bed during daycare naptime, behaving as though he is simply another child in the room.

The video’s caption summed up the moment perfectly, adding humor to the already adorable visual. “Y’all he is ridiculous lol. He really think he a daycare kid,” it reads. “Like he was waiting on this all morning lol why is he like this lol.”

The poster, Ashley from Delaware, later explained why the dog fits so seamlessly into daycare life.

She told Newsweek that the clip shows a routine that happens regularly in her home daycare. According to Ashley, her dog gets so excited when he comes home that he immediately runs for a nap, treating it as part of his normal day.

“The video shows my dog getting so excited when he comes home that he runs straight to his crib for a nap. It’s something he does all the time, and I thought it was funny and cute to share. He is just napping with the daycare kids on a daily basis,” she said.

Dogs sleep a significant portion of the day, with most adult dogs resting about 12–16 hours in total, including nighttime sleep and daytime naps.

According to Pet MD, puppies may sleep up to 20 hours daily to support growth and development, while senior dogs also require more rest due to aging changes.

Sleep needs vary based on age, breed, activity level, and lifestyle. Some breeds are naturally more relaxed, while active dogs may sleep less. Dogs also sleep more if bored, ill, or experiencing lifestyle changes.

Rather than one long stretch, dogs normally sleep in multiple shorter periods throughout the day and night.

Since being posted, the video has spread quickly across social media. It has so far received over 895,500 views, with many viewers stopping to watch the dog’s toddler-like behavior unfold.

One user, Janjan12345680, commented: “He’s getting his rest before his shift starts.”

Trace_514 said: “To his defence… we always fall asleep too putting the kids down.”

Lily Z added: “This is too freaking adorable!!! The kids be wearing him out lol. He needs a nap too.”
