The worlds of acting and basketball will combine when award-winning actor Timothee Chalamet chats with LeBron James on a special podcast.
On Tuesday, LeBron’s podcast, which he appears on along with former two-time NBA Most Valuable Player Steve Nash, teased the big announcement. Taking to X (formerly Twitter) and other social media, the “Mind the Game” podcast account shared a photo featuring the three stars’ names.
Just below that, they revealed it would be a live recording on Monday, March 2, and streaming on YouTube and Prime Video on March 5. That big news arrives as the Los Angeles Lakers’ season is still underway, while Chalamet’s been participating in the busy promotional grind and awards season for his latest movie.
The 30-year-old actor is up for the Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in “Marty Supreme,” where he stars as Marty Mauser, an aspiring table tennis player loosely based on real-life table tennis player Marty Reisman. The film, which co-stars Oscar-winning actor Gwyneth Paltrow, is also nominated for Best Picture.
While his co-star is an Oscar winner for 1998’s “Shakespeare in Love,” Chalamet has been unsuccessful in two previous attempts. He received nominations for “Call Me by Your Name” in 2018 and “A Complete Unknown” in 2025.
Meanwhile, LeBron isn’t necessarily Oscar-nominated, but he’s familiar with winning major awards. The four-time NBA MVP and four-time NBA Champion will likely have plenty to discuss with Chalamet.
James, playing in his 23rd NBA season, recently appeared in his 22nd All-Star Game, and the Lakers are looking like playoff contenders, at the very least.
Chalamet has been known to attend major basketball games, including attending Los Angeles Lakers games with girlfriend Kylee Jenner. He’s also been seen at several New York Knicks playoff games last season.
As for movies, King James has appeared in several, including “Trainwreck,” “Space Jam: A New Legacy,” and “Hustle.” On several of those, he not only appeared in the films, but also has co-producer or producer credits.
It should be interesting to see how the discussions intersect involving basketball fandom, acting roles, and other topics during the upcoming “Mind the Game” podcast.
