Ms. Hoang Thi Lan (Son Duong commune, Tuyen Quang province) is currently working as a factory worker at a leather shoe manufacturing company in Phuc Ung 1 Industrial Cluster, earning over 9 million VND per month. The job provides a stable income and doesn't require her to be away from home, something she wouldn't have dared to dream of just a few years ago.
"Working far from home meant a similar salary, rent, and the occasional travel expenses back home. Now that I have a job right in my hometown, I can commute daily, live and eat with my family, saving a lot on expenses, and I have the opportunity to take care of my children and my home. Now I just hope for an increase in income and a stable, long-term job," shared Ms. Lan.
Located more than 3km from Phuc Ung 1 Industrial Cluster, Phuc Ung 2 Industrial Cluster is continuing to receive investment in infrastructure development. This is one of the largest industrial clusters in terms of area and total investment (48 hectares, with an investment of over 530 billion VND) being implemented in Tuyen Quang province.
As of mid-June 2026, site leveling work was underway, with dozens of pieces of equipment and personnel working on the project. This industrial cluster is planned in a modern direction with multiple sectors such as processing, manufacturing, and production of electrical and electronic equipment, packaging, etc. When operational, Phuc Ung 2 Industrial Cluster will create jobs for over 3,000 local workers.
Mr. Nguyen Quang Phong, Head of the Project Management Board for Phuc Ung Industrial Clusters 2 and 3, said that the investor is urgently completing the procedures for construction implementation, aiming to put the industrial cluster into operation as quickly as possible.
"This is one of the projects that the province expects will create a strong shift in attracting industrial investment and creating jobs for local workers; currently, progress is being accelerated," Mr. Phong informed.
In fact, over the past period, Tuyen Quang province has seen a fairly positive shift in labor in rural areas as the construction of industrial clusters has created tens of thousands of jobs, giving workers more job options locally instead of having to go to other provinces to work.
According to the Department of Industry and Trade of Tuyen Quang province, the province has established 17 industrial clusters with a total area of 810 hectares. Investors are actively completing procedures and developing infrastructure to attract secondary projects. Of these, 9 industrial clusters have attracted 45 investment projects with a total registered capital of over 8,377 billion VND, 34 projects have become operational, creating jobs for nearly 10,200 workers. The average occupancy rate is 43%.
Speaking with reporters, Mr. Hoang Anh Cuong, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Tuyen Quang province, informed that developing industrial clusters is one of the province's priorities. Along with creating favorable conditions and promoting investment attraction, the province has also resolutely urged investors to accelerate progress, complete infrastructure as soon as possible, and put projects into operation.
“Businesses investing in industrial park infrastructure are required to establish a permanent task force in the province, proactively arrange and mobilize capital in a timely manner, and regularly monitor the progress of project implementation. Land clearance work is also being carried out decisively, ensuring that land issues do not affect the progress,” said Mr. Hoang Anh Cuong.
Following the merger, Tuyen Quang adjusted its provincial planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050. The province planned 48 industrial clusters with a total area of approximately 2,450 hectares, removing 11 clusters (185 hectares) that were no longer suitable from the plan. This is believed to concentrate resources on areas with significant advantages.
