In the context of rapidly changing labor market demands for graduates , especially with the increasing application of artificial intelligence, the competition aims to create an environment for students to practice and assess their management skills through practical business scenarios.

In addition, instead of just assessing knowledge, NextGen Manager focuses on competencies such as analytical thinking, decision-making, prioritization, leadership, influencing, collaboration, communication, and accountability.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Rector of the International School, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and Head of the Organizing Committee of the competition, said: Every year, universities in the economics field provide the labor market with thousands of graduates with good academic results. However, the competencies that businesses need in a young manager, such as making decisions when information is incomplete, determining priorities, or persuading others without having the authority, are difficult to measure with transcripts alone.

According to Associate Professor Anh Tuan, the development of artificial intelligence further highlights this gap.
