Newcastle United have quickly found a successor for the hot seat at St James' Park. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the English club have reached a verbal agreement with manager Matthias Jaissle, marking a significant change on the coaching bench.
The agreement between the two parties will be valid until June 2030 and is expected to be officially signed in the next few days. The Middle Eastern representative, Al-Ahli club, has also been informed of the German coach's departure.

Matthias Jaissle's arrival comes shortly after manager Eddie Howe officially parted ways with Newcastle United. The English coach left his post after nearly five years with the club since November 2021. The highlight of Howe's tenure was winning the Carabao Cup in 2025, ending the team's 70-year domestic title drought.
However, his declining form and severe squad crisis over the past year have brought Howe's journey at Newcastle to an end. The club's management has been forced to look for a replacement to rebuild the team.
Matthias Jaissle's proven coaching abilities
Returning to Newcastle's new manager, Matthias Jaissle arrives in the Premier League with an impressive resume. Before accepting the offer to move to England, he led Al-Ahli to victory in the Asian Champions League for two consecutive years (2025 and 2026).
Earlier in Europe, Jaissle had already made a tactical mark. Taking over RB Salzburg in 2021 from Jesse Marsch, he led the team to two national championships and one Austrian Cup. This was also the period when he excelled at developing young stars such as Benjamin Sesko, Brenden Aaronson, and Karim Adeyemi.
