Vo Nguyen Dai Hieu, a student at the University of Technical Education ( Da Nang University) and the project team leader, likens the team's AR glasses to a "digital translation class" placed right in front of the hearing-impaired.
"When the person opposite speaks, the system's microphone captures the sound. The AI recognizes the speech, converts it into text, then analyzes the content and translates it into a form suitable for Vietnamese sign language. The results are displayed directly in the wearer's field of vision as subtitles or a 3D character performing sign language," Hieu explained.
