Midfielder Bruno Fernandes broke the 26-year-old record of legend David Beckham when he shone brightly to help Man Utd beat Aston Villa 3-1 in the 30th round of the Premier League.
Manchester United continued their impressive form under the brilliant performance of captain Bruno Fernandes as they hosted Aston Villa at Old Trafford on the morning of March 16th ( Hanoi time).
The Portuguese playmaker contributed two assists for the goals scored by Casemiro and Matheus Cunha. The home team's remaining goal was scored by Benjamin Sesko in the final minutes to seal a 3-1 victory.
Aston Villa, the visiting team, only managed a consolation goal thanks to Ross Barkley in the 64th minute.

With two assists, the Portuguese midfielder has increased his total number of assists in the Premier League this season to 16, along with 7 goals in 27 matches.
That achievement helped Fernandes surpass the record of 15 assists in a single Premier League season for Man Utd, set by legend Beckham in the 1999-2000 season.

Since joining Old Trafford from Sporting CP in 2020, midfielder Fernandes has scored 105 goals and provided 103 assists in 319 appearances for the "Red Devils".
Meanwhile, former star player Beckham left Man United in 2003 with a record of 85 goals and 122 assists in 394 appearances.
Fernandes' impressive form has also helped Michael Carrick's side consolidate their position in the top group. They are currently third, three points ahead of Aston Villa, who are right behind them, after 30 rounds of the Premier League.
This gap gives Man Utd a significant advantage in the race for a place in next season's Champions League.
