The focus of all criticism has been on the decision to let Son Heung-min leave in the summer 2025 transfer window. The South Korean striker was an icon of the club with 173 goals in 454 appearances, but he moved to LAFC in MLS. Son's departure leaves a void that is almost impossible to fill.
On social media, many fans expressed their regret. One account commented: "If Son were still here, Tottenham wouldn't be doing so badly." Another wrote: "Son is better than all the current strikers at the club. It was a disastrous decision."
