The BYD Seal 07 EV 2026 electric vehicle has just been officially launched in China with two versions, priced from 169,900 to 189,900 Yuan (approximately 594-664 million VND).
At a vehicle launch event held in China on March 5, 2026, BYD Group introduced new versions of a range of products, including the new 2026 Seal 07 EV. Similar to its siblings under the same brand, the BYD Seal 07 also features significant upgrades in charging capabilities.
The BYD Seal 07 EV 2026 uses a rear-wheel drive configuration with a permanent magnet synchronous motor producing a maximum power of 240 kW (approximately 322 hp). According to registration documents with the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the vehicle is equipped with a 69 kWh battery, providing a range of 705 km on a full charge using the CLTC cycle.
BYD states that the new powertrain for this all-electric sedan maintains energy consumption below 10 kWh/100 km. While BYD's second-generation Blade battery technology is notable for its ability to achieve a driving range of over 1,000 km, the Seal 07 EV uses the Short Blade Battery 2.0 variant. This version is designed for high power delivery rather than maximizing energy density.
Unlike the Long Blade 2.0 battery, which aims for a density of 210 Wh/kg and a range of over 1,000 km for top-of-the-line premium models, the Short Blade 2.0 battery in the BYD Seal 07 EV has a redesigned internal structure to support 8C charging and 16C discharging. This hardware configuration allows the vehicle to utilize BYD's new 1,500 kW Flash charging network, enabling it to travel nearly 400 km on just 5 minutes of charging.
Aside from a major change to the battery, the BYD Seal 07 EV retains almost the same design as the plug-in hybrid version currently sold in the Chinese market. The car also adopts the Marine Aesthetics design language, featuring a minimalist and sleek appearance. It has dimensions of 4,995 x 1,910 x 1,495 mm (length x width x height) and a wheelbase of 2,900 mm. With these dimensions, the car is positioned as a direct competitor to the Xiaomi SU7.
The interior of the 2026 BYD Seal 07 EV is quite spacious thanks to its long wheelbase. The car features a 2+1 three-screen setup along with a head-up display (W-HUD). Additionally, it has a minimalist gear shift lever mounted on the steering column, a wireless charging pad, and an integrated refrigerator with heating/cooling functions.
Furthermore, this electric vehicle also features the new 5.0 version of the "God's Eye" driver assistance system, supporting urban navigation with ADAS (NOA) on all versions. This system is supported by a LiDAR sensor mounted on the roof of the vehicle.
In the Chinese market, the 2026 BYD Seal 07 EV comes in two versions with prices ranging from 169,900 to 189,900 Yuan (approximately 594-664 million VND). Compared to the Xiaomi SU7 Standard, priced at 215,900 Yuan, the BYD model is 21.3% cheaper.
The launch of the 2026 Seal 07 EV electric sedan comes after BYD recorded February 2026 deliveries of 152,430 new energy vehicles (NEVs), a 16% increase year-on-year.
BYD currently aims to achieve an annual production capacity of 4.5 million vehicles across its entire global factory network. Deliveries of the BYD Seal 07 EV are expected to begin at the Changzhou factory in Jiangsu Province, China, at the end of March 2026.
