Cybersecurity risks are increasing with the development of AI.

According to Cisco's Relentless Defense 2026 report, 95% of organizations in Vietnam reported experiencing at least one cybersecurity incident affecting their business operations in the past 12 months, higher than the global average of 91%. Notably, over 40% of the incidents recorded in Vietnam involved AI interference.

These figures show that cybersecurity is becoming an issue directly linked to a company's ability to maintain operations and manage risks. As AI agents can automatically perform many tasks in a short amount of time, the requirement is not only to enhance protective technologies but also to shorten the time it takes to detect, make decisions, and resolve incidents.

The report analyzes how cybersecurity professionals are responding to an environment where the threat from AI is increasing. The report assesses organizations based on three factors: the comprehensiveness of their technological environment protection; the speed of threat detection, response, and remediation; and factors that slow this process. The global average score is 64/100, while Vietnam's score is 65/100. Only 8% of organizations globally and 9% in Vietnam belong to the Relentless Defenders group – organizations that excel in comprehensive protection, response speed, and reduction of operational barriers.
