According to the Banking 500 2026 report published by Brand Finance, the total value of the world's 500 most valuable banking brands increased by 10% in 2026, reaching nearly $1.8 trillion , marking five consecutive years of growth. However, behind this growth lies a shift in how banks build brand value. From the rise of wealth management services to the race to apply artificial intelligence (AI), technology is constantly changing how banks interact with customers. Nevertheless, in an era driven by algorithms and data, building strong customer trust remains the core anchor for brand growth and sustainable position.
Asset management is the new growth driver for the banking industry.
Looking at the structural shifts in the Banking 500 2026 report, the Wealth Management segment stands out as a bright spot with a 45% growth, far surpassing the growth of the general banking and financial services sector (Wholesale Banking - 41%) and the Asset Management segment (Asset Management - 17%). This growth helps this segment account for more than 3% of the total brand value of the ranking, equivalent to $61.6 billion in 2026.
