In the B-segment SUV market, the Honda HR-V is still known as one of the most expensive models, similar to the Peugeot 2008. This has been consistently maintained by the Japanese automaker in the Vietnamese market for many years, with few promotional offers or discounts.
However, recently, competitors in the B-SUV segment in Vietnam have been continuously adjusting their list prices down to below 600 million VND. This has for the first time brought the price of the Honda HR-V down to below 700 million VND.
Furthermore, current B-segment SUV models are also receiving official discounts to clear inventory and stimulate consumer demand during the sluggish market in the middle of the year. This has forced even models that rarely offer promotions, such as the Honda HR-V, to take new action.
Furthermore, the electric vehicle trend is on the rise in Vietnam, with the VinFast VF6 consistently leading the segment with average sales of 2,500 units per month. Therefore, Honda HR-V's sales have been somewhat affected.
Honda HR-V will see significant price reductions in June 2026.
With competitive pricing and changing consumer trends, the Japanese automaker is also forced to join the price war for the Honda HR-V in Vietnam, specifically:
| Version | Listed price (million VND) | Discounted price (million VND) |
| Honda HR-V G | 699 | 664 |
| Honda HR-V L | 750 | 721 |

At 664 million VND, the Honda HR-V G is now on par with the Hyundai Creta 1.5L Special Edition, priced at 659 million VND. This forces consumers choosing a B-segment family SUV to carefully consider their options between Japanese and Korean vehicles.
The Honda HR-V consistently excels in terms of distinctive performance, solid features, timeless design, and better resale value compared to the Hyundai Creta.
In Vietnam, the Honda HR-V has two engine options:
- The L and G versions are equipped with a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine producing 119 horsepower and 145 Nm of maximum torque.
- The e:HEV RS version is equipped with a hybrid powertrain, combining a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with 105 horsepower and an electric motor with 129 horsepower. This hybrid system saves 30% more fuel than the internal combustion engine version.
In addition, this B-segment SUV also boasts the advanced Honda SENSING safety package with a range of features including:
- Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS)
- Automatic High Beam (AHB) system
- Adaptive cruise control system including low-speed range (ACC with LSF)
- Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) system
- Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)
- Forward Departure Warning System (LCDN)
