Muong Khuong commune currently has about 10 hectares of Tai Nung pear orchards.

Thanks to the cool climate, suitable soil conditions, and the application of proper cultivation techniques, pear trees thrive, producing large, attractive fruits with a sweet, crisp, and juicy taste, making them popular with consumers.

From early morning, the family of Ms. Hoang Thi Binh in Chung Chai B village, Muong Khuong commune, has been busy harvesting ripe pears. Ms. Binh carefully selects and sorts the pears by size before packaging them for customers inside and outside the province.

Ms. Binh said that most of her family's pear production had been pre-ordered by regular customers, so sales were very smooth.

Mrs. Binh's family currently has 30 pear trees, now in their third year of bearing fruit. Thanks to proper care, pruning, and organic fertilization, the pears are sweet, visually appealing, and safe, earning high praise from customers and leading to increased orders compared to previous years. On average, Mrs. Binh's family harvests 40 to 60 kg of pears per day for customers, with peak days seeing harvests exceeding 200 kg, mainly for customers in provinces and cities throughout the country.

Currently, the market price of Tai Nung pears ranges from 20,000 to 25,000 VND/kg, depending on the size of the fruit.

This season, the entire Muong Khuong commune is estimated to yield 55 quintals/hectare, with a total production of 27.5 tons. With stable prices and a good yield, pear trees are bringing significant income to growers, contributing to improving their living standards and creating motivation for them to continue expanding their cultivated area and investing in safe and sustainable farming practices.

Besides bringing economic benefits, the lush, fruit-laden pear orchards are also becoming an attractive destination, drawing many tourists to visit, experience, and enjoy pears right in the garden. This is also an opportunity for Muong Khuong commune to promote its distinctive agricultural products, gradually linking fruit tree development with experiential tourism, contributing to increasing the value of local agricultural products.
