VinFast is the first car manufacturer to build an automotive testing center in Vietnam. This facility is located in Hai Phong , within the company's automotive manufacturing complex.

The safety test area is equipped with a 250m long track for crash tests. The control system allows for the simulation of various real-life accident scenarios, including head-on collisions, eccentric collisions, side collisions, and collisions with poles. The system's maximum test speed reaches 120km/h.
In addition, VinFast has put into operation a reverse acceleration skid system (RAST), used for research and evaluation of the ability of components such as seats, seat belts, and airbags to protect vehicle occupants.
To collect data during testing, the center used various types of internationally standardized mannequins, simulating people sitting in vehicles of different ages and physical conditions. These included the Hybrid III, THOR, EuroSID, and WorldSID mannequin lines.
This facility is also equipped with its own calibration room to ensure the accuracy of the mannequins before they are used in testing.
The test area is also equipped with crash barriers that meet international standards such as ODB, MPDB, and IIHS MDB.
According to VinFast, the testing process was recorded through approximately 1,000 accelerometer sensors and 500 data collection channels. The lighting system and high-speed cameras allowed for detailed recording of each test's progress.
Meets international safety testing standards.
The VinFast testing center is capable of conducting full-vehicle crash tests both indoors and outdoors. According to the company, this facility was invested in to meet the requirements of many automotive safety assessment programs around the world .
Tests conducted according to United Nations ECE technical regulations, US Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS), and Indian Automotive Standards (AIS) can all be carried out here.
In addition, the center is capable of conducting tests according to automotive safety assessment programs such as Euro NCAP, US NCAP, ASEAN NCAP, and Bharat NCAP, serving to evaluate and rate the safety level of vehicles.

The center was built primarily to serve the research, development, and quality control activities of VinFast vehicles.
However, the facility's scope of operation is not limited to internal needs. The company aims to develop it into one of the leading motor vehicle testing centers in Southeast Asia.
Recently, the Vietnam Registering and Inspection Department, in collaboration with VinFast and the Japan Automotive Standards Internationalization Center (JASIC), organized a training course on United Nations technical regulations (UN Regulations) at the center. The program was for management staff from motor vehicle safety testing and certification units.
