The unique two-colored waterfall on the Yellow River.

In recent days, tourists visiting the Hukou Waterfall on the Yellow River have witnessed a special natural phenomenon: the waterfall displays two distinctly contrasting colors of water. One side has the characteristic murky yellowish-brown color of the Yellow River, while the other side retains relatively clear water.

According to experts, this phenomenon occurs after localized heavy rains in the upstream area. The large amount of sediment carried by the water flow towards the west of the waterfall causes the water to turn a cloudy yellow color, while the eastern part is less affected and therefore maintains its relative clarity.

The distinct difference between the two streams creates a striking spectacle, like a natural boundary between two contrasting colors. Many tourists and photographers have flocked to this area to capture this rare moment of nature.

Hukou Waterfall is the largest waterfall on the Yellow River and one of China's most famous scenic spots. Here, the river narrows significantly before plunging into a deep gorge, creating powerful columns of water and a majestic white mist. The combination of the unique topography and abundant sediment contributes to this unique phenomenon, attracting much attention.
