K-pop has become increasingly global over the past decade. But every once in a while, a new group appears that makes fans stop and say the same thing:
“This is something different.”
That reaction is now following rookie girl group MEPC, a multinational team that debuted in late 2025 and already stands out for one reason in particular — one of its members is from Nepal, something rarely seen in the K-pop industry.
And fans are starting to take notice.
The rookie K-pop group built from global trainees
MEPC (맵시) debuted on December 8, 2025, under GBK Entertainment with the mini album First Fragment.
The group’s name comes from a Korean word meaning to dress stylishly or look chic, while also representing the acronym “My Escape Point C.”
The current seven-member lineup includes idols from several countries:
- Miho — South Korea
- Solmi — Tunisia
- Kkekke — Myanmar
- Hara — Nepal
- Ann — India
- Zaylie — India
- Anika — India
That international composition alone already makes MEPC unusual even by modern K-pop standards.
But it’s member Hara who has sparked particular curiosity online.
A Nepali idol entering the K-pop industry
While K-pop has welcomed idols from countries such as Thailand, Japan, China, and Australia, Nepali representation has been extremely rare.
That’s why many fans were surprised to learn that Hara, one of MEPC’s rappers and dancers, is from Nepal.
During the group’s pre-debut period, Hara even shared updates about the group’s progress on social media, including details about the training process that eventually led to their debut lineup.

MEPC’s official debut came with the mini album First Fragment, which included the title track “Truth Seeker.”
Before that, the group released a pre-debut single titled “My Red Face” and a remake of “Where Is The Love” as part of their early promotional activities.
