BYD Philippines has finally launched the all-electric Sealion 7 in our shores and is ready to battle the Tesla Model Y.
The Sealion 7 runs on dual electric motors, producing a combined 530 PS (523hp) and 690 Nm of torque, with a 0-100 km/h sprint time of 4.5 seconds. Power comes from an 82.6 kWh BYD Blade Battery with a claimed maximum range of 542km on the NEDC cycle. Four drive modes are available.

The crossover measures 4,830mm long, 1,925mm wide, and 1,620mm tall. Interior features include power and ventilated front seats, a panoramic glass roof, a front trunk, and a power tailgate with kick sensor. The cabin is equipped with a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, a heads-up display, and a voice assistant. A Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function lets drivers power external appliances directly from the car.
On the safety front, the Sealion 7 comes with the DiPilot ADAS suite, covering a 360-degree camera with see-through mode, Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Assistance, Blind Spot Detection, and a Driver Attention Warning system that monitors for fatigue and distraction.
The vehicle is priced at PHP 2,588,000 and comes with a 6-year/160,000km bumper-to-bumper warranty and an 8-year/160,000km battery warranty. BYD also states that periodic maintenance costs are approximately 50% lower than those of comparable C-segment SUVs, with service required only once a year. Buyers financing through BPI can avail of a PHP 388,000 all-in downpayment with one year of free comprehensive insurance, valid until June 30.
Four color options are available: Shark Grey, Cosmos Black, Aurora White, and Deep Sea Blue, all with black interiors.
The launch coincides with the BYD Tech Tour at Glorietta Activity Center, running from May 28 to 31. Visitors can view and test drive the Sealion 7 alongside other BYD models, including the Shark 6, Sealion 5, Sealion 6, and Tang DM-i. On-site reservations made during the event come with exclusive offers.
