Aside from launching the all-new RAV4 and Urban Cruiser BEV, Toyota Motor Philippines has also given the top-of-the-line Corolla Cross GR-S a little nip and tuck to give it more of that GAZOO Racing flavor.
In terms of powertrain, the updated Corolla Cross GR-S still retains the same hybrid 2ZR-FXE 1.8-liter, four-cylinder motor, but this time the batteries have now been upgraded to lithium-ion. This not only means a more efficient drive but also extends the battery’s lifespan. However, power remains at 122 ps and 142 Nm of torque. Power is sent exclusively to the front wheels via a CVT.
The biggest difference here is the additional updates and trimming found around the exterior and the interior of the vehicle.
The front fascia has been partially redesigned with a new front bumper that gives off a more aggressive look; the side panels have been cleaned up with smoother edges; and the rear diffuser has also been redesigned for a rugged aesthetic, along with blacked-out badging.
On the inside of the Corolla Cross GR-S, the seats now get new GR upholstery at the headrests to add flair and character, while the steering wheel also gets a GR logo. The addition of red seatbelts and red stitching across the dashboard adds a pop of sportiness and color to the cabin.
In terms of equipment or any other upgrades, the equipment remains the same, and the Corolla Cross GR-S is now priced at P1,943,000 for the two-tone Platinum White Pearl Mica and P1,948,000 for the two-tone Emotional Red.
